The Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks were the talk of the Windy City Tuesday ... at least among those who bothered to go to work.
Not surprisingly, an overwhelming number of people - particularly men - took all or half of the day off in the wake of the NHL team's thrilling triumph.
CBS 2 says the team's big win meant a big loss in productivity city-wide. With the exception of the Sports Authority and similar companies, of course.
Monday night’s raucous celebrations following Chicago's win over Boston gave way to an unprecedented wave of sick calls, late starts and half days.
One HR manager estimated that “In Chicago, at least 25 percent of the workforce is coming in late ... we foresee millions in productivity losses.”
And to think ... there's gonna be a parade too .
